The highly anticipated City Market, located in Bay City, Michigan, opened to the public on June 7, 2017, and a grand opening event and ribbon cutting took place on Tuesday, June 13. City Market founders and staff were joined by city officials from Bay City, as well as the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce for the ribbon cutting and opening remarks.
City Market features a year-round indoor farmer’s market and eatery that offers fresh and healthy local goods from dozens of vendors and restaurants. Customers can enjoy browsing a bounty of seasonal produce, fresh cuts of meat and fish, a variety of baked goods, artisanal treats, floral offerings, and more.
William A. Kibbe & Associates provided architectural and engineering services to renovate the interior and exterior of the Market’s existing building. Architectural design included vendor booth layouts, restroom expansion, interior design, new exterior windows, a new building façade, and roof structure. Electrical, mechanical, and plumbing design included renovations to existing systems and introduced new, innovative design for the building’s LED lighting, HVAC, electrical service and distribution. Interior renderings were created by our team to help visualize the space and its potential.
Building renovations began in November 2016, and the 14,500 square foot market space features individual vendor booths that range in size from 75-300 square feet, as well as a designated children’s play area, a teen area called The Lunch Box, and a demo kitchen.
We are pleased to have been involved in this exciting addition to Bay City. For a full vendor list and additional information, visit www.citymarketbc.com.
