Albert & Woods Professional Development & Business Center | Saginaw, MI

The Saginaw County Community Mental Health Authority (SCCMHA) purchased the former Germania Town and Country Club of Saginaw, which was the oldest country club in America. The 40,000 sq. ft. building was to be remodeled to house 40 office workers and provide for future expansion.

William A. Kibbe & Associates was first asked to perform a complete assessment of the facility. The building was outdated and structurally deficient. Items in need of replacement included: exterior columns, a full mechanical and electrical overhaul, windows and skylights, as well as the exterior soffit and fascia.

The parking lot underwent a total reconstruction including drainage, lighting, and landscaping. The interior dining rooms, lounges, and kitchens were demolished to make room for new offices, training spaces, waiting rooms, and open office areas.

New plumbing fixtures and piping were required along with new lighting fixtures and wiring. WAK selected neutral, yet modern designs for floor and ceiling finishes with light colors for the walls to brighten up the spaces and provide contrast to the existing woodwork and wrought iron. Our team’s expertise and eye for design turned an aging relic into a contemporary, open, and professional office environment.
