William A. Kibbe & Associates is providing architectural and engineering design services for a new tennis court complex in Saginaw, Michigan – the Urban Tennis Foundation Garber Courts Family Center.

This project includes the development of 8 tournament-level tennis courts, 8 pickleball courts, and a new entrance building. Lighting design and landscaping will also be included. The site will include a perimeter walkway with concrete slab for bleachers, as well as an entrance building with a pro shop, office space, training room, and restrooms.

This new complex will replace the 6 existing Garber Tennis Courts on the project site. After demolition, the area will be cleared and graded to accommodate the planned improvements. Construction is planned to begin in spring 2021.

From the Urban Tennis Foundation:
With kids our passion, tennis our tool, we seek to honor the quote: “Our idea is to use tennis as a way to gain and hold the attention of young people in the inner cities so that we can teach them about matters more important than tennis…through tennis, lives can be changed and spirits reclaimed.”
–Arthur Ashe, in Days of Grace
